Welcome to Fast Breakdown Recovery & Car Transport (FBR). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our services. By booking with FBR, you agree to these terms.

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

  • FBR, We, Our, and Us: Refers to Fast Breakdown Recovery & Car Transport, including its employees or anyone acting on its behalf.
  • Customer, You, and Your: Refers to the registered owner of the Vehicle or the person/business acting on behalf of the owner, as named at Booking.
  • Subcontractor: Any third-party hired by FBR to perform part or all of the Service. Subcontractors are independently responsible for their insurance coverage.
  • Vehicle: Refers to the car, van, trailer, caravan, or other material object specified at Booking.
  • Booking: The request by the Customer for FBR to tow a Vehicle from a Collection Address to a Delivery Address.
  • Service: The towing of the Vehicle by FBR under this Agreement.
  • Collection Address/Delivery Address: The address specified for the collection and delivery of the Vehicle.
  • Fee: The price for the Service as provided in the FBR Quotation.
  • Claims: All demands, claims, penalties, or liability, whether civil or criminal.
  • Losses: All financial losses, damages, legal costs, and other expenses.


Service Agreement

These Terms and Conditions must be accepted by the Customer prior to the commencement of Service.

The Booking form must clearly specify:

  • Collection and Delivery Address
  • Type of Vehicle
  • Whether the vehicle is loaded or approximate weight (e.g., vans, where applicable).
  • Circumstances such as multistorey car park access, height restrictions, etc.
  • Whether keys to the Vehicle are available, if it rolls, or requires additional equipment like skates.


Additional Fees

  • Skates: If skates are needed due to lack of Customer-provided information, a fee of £10-£15 per skate may apply based on job requirements and vehicle size.
  • Drop-Off Location: We reserve the right to drop off the Vehicle at the initial Delivery Point even if the Customer disagrees or the garage refuses the Vehicle.
  • Waiting Fees: A fee of £30/hour for delays due to the Customer’s lack of preparation will apply, calculated in 30-minute increments of £15 after the first 15 minutes.

Examples of delays include:

  • Auction collections where the Vehicle has not been paid for.
  • Lack of delivery arrangements at a garage.
  • Diagnostics performed on the tow truck before acceptance.


Cancellations and Modifications

Cancellations or changes to the collection date and time for recovery jobs must be made at least 14 days in advance for a full refund.

Cancellations within 14 days of the scheduled date will incur a 100% charge with no refund.

Liability and Claims

FBR is not liable for claims or losses due to:

  • Circumstances beyond our control (e.g., delays due to traffic).
  • Damage from unavoidable events (e.g., stones striking the Vehicle during transport).

FBR is not responsible for damages arising from:

  • Pre-existing Vehicle conditions (e.g., when driven onto the towing vehicle).
  • Failure by the Customer to notify FBR if the Vehicle cannot or should not be driven.


Vehicle Damage Claims Procedure

Claims for Vehicle damage must be sent to FBR in writing within 24 hours of Vehicle delivery. The claim must include:

  • Photographic evidence of the damage.
  • Breakdown of repair costs from an approved repairer.

The Customer must allow FBR to inspect the Vehicle prior to authorizing any repairs or replacements.
